Good day,
Some of you may be familiar with the TLC hit-TV show 90 Day Fiancé. Some of you may not. It’s a pretty wild watch that manages to both intrigue me and crush my soul within a 40 minute episode. I haven’t seen much, but I’ve seen enough to know that every episode is the same: lonely person in lives in America (often with their mother), falls in love with someone on the other side of the world, fights a lot over Facetime, gets engaged, fights some more, then flies the fiancé over on a 90-day visa. They then have 90 days to get married and live happily ever after or call it off. It usually ends with beef between the mother and the fiancé.
I wrote a song about it, and since it’s been a while since I shared a memo demo with you, here it is. It’s called Meet in the Middle. I hope you like it.
Also: if any of you are in Amsterdam tomorrow afternoon, I’ll be filming a live session at Café Latei (Zeedijk 143) between 15:00-17:00. They have good coffee and cake and you’ll have proof that you were a fan before it was cool. Anyway, here’s the song:
i’m tired you’re up
spent my lunch break feeding the ducks
it gets quiet out here
i hope you don’t mind
Mom says you’re lucky
I guess some people just get lucky
Can’t wait til you get here
Can’t wait til you meet the dogs
If you get online i can make you mine
We could just meet in the middle
Im not a great deal but i’ll pay for your meal
When we meet in the middle
I’m frozen in a frame
You finally learned to say my name
Everybody’s getting married
I’m gonna make you so happy
So happy
If you get online i can make you mine
We could just meet in the middle
Im not a great deal but i’ll pay for your meal
When we meet in the middle
Shanghai isn’t far to be where you are
When we meet in the middle
Im not the best deal but i’ll pay for your meal
When we meet in the middle
See ya!
already a bop that will become a song I anxiously wait for to be released
