g’dafternoon,
you know how you always get spammed by your devices about apps that need to get updated? i always put them off until the app just won’t start anymore, essentially check-mating me. i also set weekly reminders to myself to write a substack, which obviously isn’t working. today it felt like i was the app, urging myself to update my dedicated subbers (or stackers?) on what’s happening. the apps usually provide a nice, tidy list of bullet points with bug fixes and new features, so i should probably stick to that theme:
the most exciting news is that i’ll be playing four shows in england in the first week of september, opening for my friend victoria canal and then playing guitar for her set. we’ll be in london, manchester, birmingham and bristol and i’m frickin stoked.
the next album is in the works. it’s slowly but surely starting to take shape and we’re currently working on the third track, titled world on my shoulders, which has a nifty little dual acoustic guitar arrangement and one of the coolest drum sounds i’ve ever recorded.
my dear friend tim knol’s new album, long live your friends, came out on friday. the songs are great, it sounds great and it was made by great people. one of my favorites is we’re gonna make it, featuring tara wilts. i played a little tres and guitar on dance with me. excited to play them live.
i was in portugal for a bit and saw a brazilian samba band play. ridiculously good. so i’ve been diving into the music a little bit and am collecting it in this playlist, if you’re interested.
i have not yet been able to tame a crow. i did see a magpie attempt to hide a little snack under some pebbles the other day. that was pretty cool.
that should just about fix the ol’ stack up for another week or two. see ya!
Thank
This is a very good post. Thank.
